About BB Bastard

First and foremost BB Bastard folks are Airsoft geeks. We analyze and anything and everything. So when Jay Patterson, the founder of BB Bastard, had finally pushed the limits of upgrades to his primary, he started looking at the only thing he had left to control, and that was the ammunition.

While there was (and still is) an incredibly wide and varied array of Airsoft ammunition available, purchase after purchase kept leading him back to the same conclusions:

• Most BB’ brands were mass produced to a very low standard of quality
• Many “national brands” were from one of three major manufacturers and were simply purchased in bulk (rice bagged) and “re-branded” for mass consumption in entry level Airsoft or soft-air guns

Even some of the higher end products were of poor quality. Jay pondered the situation. He had spend a good deal of time and money upgrading his beloved “Matilda” and now couldn’t find anything he could feed her that would take it’s accuracy to the next level.

So he made his own.

In 2003 he made contact with a company that specialized in high pressure plastics. This company was already producing non Airsoft products that had a high standard of quality in regards to density, material distribution and polish. Working with them over the period of 2 years, they perfected a process that resulted in a BB that Jay thought was suitable for the range of upgrade parts available to the Airsoft market, including tight-bore barrels, advanced design hop up units, and high performance springs and pistons.

Now in 2012, BB Bastard has entered a new phase of R&D and global expansion. This year we have started to pursue a number of initiatives, including bore tight ammunition, new materials and as always, a commitment to making each BB consistently more accurate.
